If you come to Missouri…

June 18, 2009

I can take you to see Pa’s fiddle.

But seriously, Springfield, Missouri is a wonderful place to visit. This post is dedicated to convincing all of you in the blogosphere (okay, mainly just my friends and fellow bloggers for dearbloginheaven) to come to Springfield with me sometime this summer. Below is a sample of all of the fun things we could do.

First, we could go to the Laura Ingalls Wilder home in Mansfield, MO. At this historic home and museum, we can see wonderful memorabilia like Pa’s fiddle, Laura’s kitchen and cooking equipment, old family photos, and witness re-enactments of critical times in Laura’s life.

Next, we would tour the world’s largest Bass Pro Shop, located right near my house in Springfield. What more could you want? Hunting, fishing, AND camping gear and HUGE ANIMALS THAT HAVE BEEN KILLED AND STUFFED!

FINALLY, I would take you to Table Rock Lake, my absolute favorite place in Missouri in the summer. We would stay at my lake house, use our jet-skis and boats, and I could teach you all how to water ski and wake board.  Besides, the Ozarks are beautiful, there’s no denying that.

So, please come with me to Missouri. It will be fun. I will take you to see crazy Evangelists who speak in tongues and levitate. I will take you to see hicks, rednecks, and hillbillys.  I will entertain you. My uncle the chef will cook delicious meals for us. We will be like celebrities.
